Results - 2010

Boys u/19:

Wednesday 21 April

Our boys played their first match of the season against Heathfield High. We dominated throughout and should have won by more then the 2-0 margin which was the eventual result. The goals were scored by Jason Brown and Quinton Appollis.

Knock-out: Playing short against Sibelius High in the quarter-finals, our team went down 2 - 1.

Boys u/16

Wednesday 5 May

The team played against Sibelius High and won 4 - 1.

Knock-out: In the quarter-final against Bergvliet High our team was down 2 - 0 with 10 minutes to go, but staged a remarkable recovery to win 3 - 2.

Boys u/14

Monday 3 May

The junior team won a high scoring match against Bergvliet High, edging them by the odd goal in 11.

Monday 10 May

This team continued its winning ways on a typical winter’s day, beating Norman Henshilwood 5 - 2.

Knock-out: Our boys met Waldorf in the quarter-final and emerged victorious by 2 goals to 1.

Girls

Monday 3 May

With the matriculation of many mainstays of last year’s squad, the current squad is short of experience and numbers. Their first game of the season was against Norman Henshilwood and, being able to field only 7 players, the girls were always on a hiding to nothing. SP lost 5- 0.

Monday 10 May

The girls continued to struggle against Heathfield High. With SP down 2 - 0, the match was abandoned (thankfully?) because of a sudden downpour.

Inter-Class Tournament

The annual inter-class tournament is one of the highlights of the winter season. Classes, divided into a junior section of Grades 8 and 9, and a senior section, play each other during intervals. This year the teams have adopted the names of countries competing in the World Cup.

The winners of the Junior section were 9C, and of the Senior section, 12B.
