THE STUDENTS’ REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL
Formed in the early 1980s, in response to the increasing demand for more student power in the turbulent political times post-1976, the SRC still thrives and plays an important part in the life of South Peninsula.
In May this year, after a week-long campaign, followed by elections, Kim Smith was elected SRC Chairperson for 2010/11, while Zaahir Simpson was elected as vice-Chairperson. Garth Kallis was the other candidate. The full list of Class Representatives for 2010 will follow shortly. The photos below show the candidates delivering their speeches, and other students posing questions.
