TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH ACTIVITY CENTRE
The Technology Research Activity Centre (TRAC) has provided a space within the school environment for learners and educators to gain expertise in the integration of technology into Science lessons.
There are six workstations equipped with various sensors, i.e. motion, sound, temperature, gas and electricity detectors which enable learners to complete tasks directly related to their curriculum in a more hands-on approach. There is also a range of simulation activities for the less adventurous.
The introduction of the TRAC equipment from Stellenbosch University and the Crocodile and Data Harvesting Sensors from Khanya has made a difference to the teaching and learning of Science at the school. We have had such a positive response from educators and learners that we would like to make this facility available to other schools.
